My Dad used to say, "no labels on the table." In other words, instead of putting a ketchup bottle on the table, put some ketchup in a bowl and serve it with a spoon. That way the ketchup can stand alone in its tomato-y goodness, unattached from a particular brand.
Or maybe it just made the table look classier.
